Custom Passive Industrial Hearing Protection with Bluetooth
SOWEI Com is Audiovox’s custom hearing protection with Bluetooth communication for work use. The hearing protection is made from a soft medical silicone and the noise filters in the hearing protection allow your ears to equalize pressure, meaning you can wear them all day without discomfort. SOWEI Com can be supplied with a cord to minimize the risk of dropping a hearing protection on the work floor and can also be supplied with detection for companies in the food industry.
The hearing protection is especially suitable for those who need to communicate via Bluetooth during working hours. The Bluetooth device has a battery for 11 hours of streaming and talk time and 180 hours of standby time. It is volume-limited to 79 dB and the microphone attenuates background noise by 20 dB, so phone calls can be made in noise. The Bluetooth device has a control panel that works with Siri (Apple), Google Assistant and Bixby (Android), so your phone can be operated without leaving your pocket.
The hearing protection is available with a noise filter that reduces noise non-linearly. Here, high-frequency sounds (e.g. angle grinders and compressed air) are attenuated the most, while mid-frequency sounds (e.g. speech and motors) and low-frequency sounds (e.g. machinery) are attenuated the least. This enables you to communicate with your colleagues, hear alarms and the like while working in a noisy environment.
Custom hearing protection for work
The custom hearing protection for work is individually adapted to each user’s ear canal, ensuring a high level of comfort over a full working day compared to traditional over-ear hearing protection. The user will not be bothered by heat or pressure on the temple, which is familiar from traditional over-ear hearing protection.
Custom hearing protection is safer to use if the user wears glasses or a hat during the cold winter months, as the noise attenuation of a traditional over-the-ear hearing protection is reduced if it doesn’t fit snugly against the ear due to an eyeglass stem or a hat getting in the way of the hearing protection.
When working in noise, both the sound level and the amount of time spent in the noise have an impact on how much hearing is affected. The longer the time or louder the noise, the greater the strain. In workplaces, employers must provide hearing protection if the noise is above 80 dB. This also applies to noise below 80 dB if it is highly annoying, such as low-frequency noise from machinery. For noise above 85 dB, the employee is required to wear hearing protection.
Questions and answers:
What are passive custom industrial hearing protection with Bluetooth
Audiovox’s passive custom industrial hearing protection with Bluetooth is individually adapted to the individual user’s ears and is used in workplaces with noise above 85 dB. The hearing protection is particularly suitable for users who need communication via Bluetooth during working hours
Who can use passive custom industrial hearing protection with Bluetooth
Employees who need communication via Bluetooth in noisy environments above 85 dB
How do I get an impression taken for passive custom hearing protection
Audiovox’s passive custom hearing protection is individually adapted to the individual user’s ears. We make an impression of each ear, after which the impression is 3D scanned and the hearing protection is made after the 3D scan. The prints are made by one of Audiovox’s specialists or a collaboration partner
What is a nonlinear noise filter?
A nonlinear noise filter attenuates noise differently in different frequency bands. The filters provide the most attenuation of high-frequency sounds (eg angle grinders and compressed air), less attenuation of medium-frequency sounds (eg machines and motors) and the least attenuation of low-frequency sounds (eg speech). This enables the user to communicate while working in an environment with a high noise level
What noise filters are available for passive custom industrial hearing protection
Audiovox’s passive custom industrial hearing protection can be supplied with 4 different noise filters: 20 dB, 25 dB, 27 dB and 30 dB
